Join us in worshiping the Lord at 10:00 am on October 12, 2025. Pastor Brett Spalding’s topic is “Encouragement and the Trinity,” with scriptures that include 1 Peter 1:3-6, 1 John 5:6-12, and John 16:1-16.
Synopsis: We continue our look at John 13-17, Jesus’ Farewell Discourse to His disciples. Jesus is telling the disciples these things, so they don’t lose faith. He tells the disciples that what is going to happen, Jesus leaving them, will actually be for their benefit. He explains that the Holy Spirit cannot come to them unless He goes. Jesus frames all of this in the relationship between the Father, Himself the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Who will come upon them. We’ll explore all of this, including the Holy Trinity this Sunday.

Join us in worshiping the Lord at 10:00 am on October 5, 2025. Pastor Brett Spalding’s topic is “Remain in God’s Love.” Our scriptures include Psalm 23, Luke 17:5-10, and John 15: 9-17.
Synopsis: I remember reading once, and even hearing it in a lecture, that the role of a pastor is to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our role is not to be a life coach, teaching people how to live a successful life, but to proclaim Jesus Christ salvation to the world. Pastors are to proclaim salvation through the grace of Jesus Christ, and Christ alone.
Then, as Scott Hoezee states, along comes a passage like John 15:9-17, or Luke 17:5-10. Jesus says, “If you do what I say … then I will love you.” Does the “if” in this sentence bothers you, does it make you ask if salvation is conditional? Does Jesus stop loving us if we sin?
Thankfully, that is not the case, Jesus still loves us, in spite of our sin. He made that clear on the cross. There is a lesson here however, and an important one. It is addressed to those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and live in His love. We’ll explore all of this on Sunday.

Synopsis: John 14 continues the farewell discourse that began in chapter 13. The disciples are in the upper room as a group for the last time and Jesus is speaking very clearly about his death. The disciples are distraught and ask Jesus many questions in their fear and disillusionment. Jesus now seeks to provide answers to their questions and to provide comfort, direction, and hope. Jesus tells them to trust in God the Father and in Him, for He states, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father, except by Me.”

Synopsis: We’ve all heard the term “stewardship” and most of the time when we hear that term, we think of giving of our financial resources. The struggle with this is the fact that it ignores a much broader scriptural call regarding what God has entrusted us with. We’ll explore a little of what scripture has to say about stewardship this Sunday.

This letter from Peter is sent to believers in Jesus Christ, both previous Jews and Gentiles in the northern regions of Asia Minor. Paul writes about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and links that belief to the practice of our faith.
Paul opens the letter: “Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Yes, we are saved for eternity through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peter is seeking to remind us now that this is not the end product of the Gospel. Jesus tells us that He has an earthly purpose for us as well, prior to our going to spend eternity with Him in heaven. We’ll explore that this Sunday.
Join us in worshiping the Lord on August 17, 2025 at 10:00 am. Pastor Brett Spalding’s topic is “Introducing Jesus,” with scriptures that include Deuteronomy 18:14-20, John 1:29-34, and John 1:35-42.
Synopsis: John seeks to introduce us to Jesus in chapter one of his gospel. He begins by telling us that Jesus existed before the earth existed and He is one with God. John then tells us that Jesus left heaven and came to earth in the flesh.
Next, John the Baptist and Andrew reveal four titles that identify Jesus, and help us to understand who He is, Lamb of God, Son of God, Rabbi, and Messiah.
