Worship our Lord with us at Community Church on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Pastor Brett Spalding’s topic is “Transfiguration.” Our scriptures include 2 Peter 1:16-21, Deuteronomy 18:15-18, and Luke 9:28-36.
Synopsis: Jesus’ popularity is peaking giving His authoritative teachings, many healings, and the feeding of 5,000 and 4,000. Jesus has just begun to teach the disciples how He is going to suffer, die, and be resurrected. At this point, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John away with Him to pray. During this time, Jesus is transfigured before their very eyes, and the voice of God the Father tells the three disciples to listen to Jesus. We’ll talk about this event Sunday and what all of the symbolism is about and how that applies to us today.
